Michael Keegan to Testify before United States Senate Committee in National Whistleblower Case
On behalf of Morris E. Fischer, LLC posted in Media , Whistleblower on June 1, 2015
Michael Keegan, represented by Morris E. Fischer, Esq., was hired by the Social Security Administration (SSA) as Associate Commissioner for Facilities and Supply Management in August, 2011. His first and second line supervisors were the Deputy Acting Commissioner, Peter Spencer and Agency, Acting Commissioner, Carolyn Colvin. Notably, back in 2009, Mr. Spencer had helped organize, then defended the need for a lavish three-day, $700,000 conference for Social Security executives in Phoenix, Arizona, contending according to ABC News, "there is a tremendous amount of stress involved in the job that we do."
In late 2012 and again in March, 2013, Mr. Keegan, whose job duties entailed monitoring the Agency's costs and expenditures, blew the whistle on a number of critical items, then faced brutal retaliation. Mr. Keegan retained Morris E. Fischer, LLC in late 2013 and the office has been representing him ever since. Currently, there is a Merit Systems Protection Board whistle blower case in active litigation.
Last week the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs contacted Morris E. Fischer, Esq. to facilitate Mr. Keegan’s testimony before the committee, now set for June 11, 2015. The Committee is headed by Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Thomas Carper (D-DE). Other Committee members include John McCain (R-AZ) and U.S. Presidential candidate Rand Paul (R-KY). Mr. Keegan will be one of three whistleblowers testifying before the Committee. Morris E. Fischer, Esq., will be representing Mr. Keegan before the U.S. Senate Committee.
